Mirror Flower
Stories shaped by light,
atmosphere and fleeting moments.
Documentary-inspired photography in Copenhagen
Mirror Flower comes from the Chinese phrase 鏡花水月.
Flowers reflected in a mirror. The moon shimmering on water.
Photography feels similar to me.
Not an attempt to stop time, but a way to revisit its reflections and to return us to a feeling.
I photograph the pause before laughter.
The softness of afternoon light.
The home that will someday look different.
The beauty that exists only because it is fleeting.
Presence over perfection
I don't chase perfect smiles.
Or flawless poses.
I work slowly.
Observing.
Listening.
Following light.
Creating photographs that feel less like performances,
and more like memories waiting to be remembered.
What remains
Some moments don't seem important while they are happening.
A child's hand reaching for yours.
Morning light falling across the kitchen.
A glance exchanged before laughter.
Years later, these small things often become the memories we hold onto most.
Photography cannot preserve life exactly as it was, but perhaps it can help us remember how it felt.
